Technovation Girls equips young women with the skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders.

  • Learn to Code

    Girls learn to build mobile apps that solve real-world problems in their communities.

  • Develop Business Plans

    Teams create business plans and learn entrepreneurship skills to launch their ideas.

  • Pitch to Judges

    Participants pitch their solutions to judges and compete for prizes and recognition.

Who can participate?

Teams of up to 5 girls aged 10-18 from schools in Central Uganda. Each team must have a mentor (teacher or adult supervisor).

Is there a registration fee?

No, participation in the Technovation Girls Challenge is completely free for all eligible teams.

Do participants need prior coding experience?

No prior coding experience is required. The program provides all necessary training and resources.

What resources are provided?

Teams receive access to curriculum, coding tutorials, mentorship, and workshops throughout the program.

What is the role of the mentor?

Mentors guide teams through the curriculum, help organize meetings, and provide support. Technical expertise is helpful but not required.

How much time commitment is required?

Teams typically meet 1-2 times per week for 1-2 hours over the course of the program (approximately 4-5 months).
